Volcano Villarica Climb

A classic snow capped cone volcano just outside Pucon. One of the most climbed mountains in South America, there are numerous group departures daily (depending on the weather) from Pucon.

The Route

This mountain is most commonly climbed as part of an organised group from Pucon. There are regulations in place and a solo/independent ascent should be possible, but enquire in Pucon. This one company that organized treks is Sol y Nieve, they have been around for many years. All organised groups are provided with crampons, Ice Axe and protective clothing for a sfae ascent of the Volcano.
